Robert has always had a knack for cutting corners to get what he wants. Oh sure, that’s landed him in some hot water before with some shady characters, but he’s pretty good at wriggling out of tight spots. He just can’t resist opportunities that promise maximum cash for a minimum amount of work. And so when he heard that a commercial developer was buying up land in his home town to make room for a swanky new resort, he set his sights on his mom’s house.
And so begins my latest short film, That’s My House, a dark comedy about a son who attempts to relocate his mother to a retirement home, triggering a series of chaotic events that reveal family secrets and unexpected consequences. The project is currently in pre-production and we are set to shoot in early June. We have an outstanding cast and crew in place and we can’t wait to get started.
If you’ve followed me and my work over the past several years, I hope you’ll consider supporting this film by dropping a few dollars into our virtual tip jar. Every amount donated will go toward offsetting our production costs. Everyone who donates will receive a “Special Thanks” credit, but if you donate $20 or more, you’ll receive an invite to an advanced screening of the finished film.
That’s My House will follow a similar style and tone that I’ve adopted in my previous short films. If you haven’t had a chance to watch them, let me pause right here and give you an opportunity to do so.
Molly is an adventurous and determined young girl. She believes in the existence of a mythological creature that supposedly lives in the woods near her home. Determined to find the proof, she recruits her best friend Devon, and together they set out to capture the evidence no one else has been able to.
The nursing home food is inadequate for a hungry Reverend.
A super-rich party girl has to prove to her Daddy that she can be a more mature adult.
Paige and Jared are two young parents trying to navigate life with a 5 year-old and a newborn. When a package arrives at their front door, Paige hopes it will help make things a little easier.
It takes a lot to make a film (even a short one), and I thank you for supporting me, my cast & crew, and independent filmmakers everywhere.
I’ll be posting updates to X, Instagram, and also here on Substack, using the tag #myhousefilm.
