Persistence of Vision.

If you’ve ever felt lost, frustrated, or like you just made a very expensive mistake on set—you’re in the right place.

The truth is, nobody’s career is a straight line. Mine has been full of glorious wins, awkward failures, and the kind of mistakes and regrets that cost time, money, and sleep. But I’ve found that the fastest way forward is learning from the stuff that went wrong.

That’s the entire purpose of Persistence of Vision.

Sharing my candid, behind-the-scenes stories from my career in video and film production. I promise to be honest, open, and upfront about the mistakes I’ve made so you can avoid them entirely.

When you subscribe, here’s what you get:

  • The Stories: 2-3 times each month, you’ll get an original, short article that dives into a real-life career experience. Every story ends with the clear, actionable lesson I learned—the kind of wisdom you can actually use tomorrow.

  • The Podcast: Once a month, I sit down with other creative pros to chat about their career journeys, the challenges they faced, and what they took away from the chaos. It’s like listening in on a very honest industry coffee meeting.

  • The Chat: Access to the Persistence of Vision chat where you can ask me your questions, get one-on-one advice, and share your own projects for feedback. It’s the closest thing to having a mentor in your pocket.

But why the name Persistence of Vision?

That’s because “persistence of vision” is the term referring to the optical illusion that makes all motion pictures possible (video, movies, TV). It means that our eyes can still perceive an image for a moment after the image itself has disappeared. So, if our eyes are exposed to a rapid succession of images, the illusion of movement is created.

So, the name of my newsletter applies in two ways:

  1. It refers to the video production industry in which I’ve made my career.

  2. It encapsulates the purpose of my writings here: to share the lessons I’ve learned through my own persistence working in film & video and the clarity I’ve gained through those experiences (Start with this story to learn more).
